Terraria
Terraria is just one of the games that are 75 percent off during this week's Xbox Games with Gold sale.

Coming off of a record-breaking holiday season for Microsoft's Xbox console division, the tech company announces that the Xbox 360 not only became the best-selling seventh-generation console, but the Xbox One became the best-selling console in November and December.

In addition to the free games offered with Xbox Live Gold membership each month, the service offers a host of games at a significant discount during special weekly sales. For January's Games with Gold deals that started on the 12th, we take a look at the dozens of console games available at a discount for the Xbox One and Xbox 360.

Xbox One

For downloadable games, we have the wildly popular side-scrolling indie sandbox, Terraria, which is 50 percent off this week, making it only $10. If you're more into board games, the Jackbox Party Pack is 33 percent off and it includes favorites like You Don't Know Jack (2015), Drawful, Word Spud, Fibbage XL, and Lie Swatter.

The Alaskan Native story-heavy adventure game Never Alone is also 33 percent off, while the hard-hitting WWE 2K15 wrestling game is 25 percent off. You can also get the Digital Deluxe Edition bundle of WWE 2K15 for 30 percent off, as well as the WWE 2K15 WCW Pack add-on for 25 percent off.

But if you're a basketball fan, you can get both WWE 2K15 and NBA 2K15 as a bundle for 40 percent off, and a variety of NBA 2K15 VC consumable points for 25% off.

Xbox 360

The biggest deals are on the Xbox 360 as we see with a 75-percent-off sale on Dead Rising, Remember Me, XCOM: Enemy Unknown, XCOM: Enemy Within, Mafia II, The Darkness, Spec Ops: The Line, BioShock, BioShock 2, and Duke Nukem Forever.

You can also enjoy 67 percent off games like Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix and Borderlands 2, 60 percent off Puzzle Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix, 50 percent off Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, and 33 percent off WWE 2K15.

If you're looking for an add-on for your existing game, there are also several in the 75-percent- to 25-percent-off range. BioShock 2's Minerva's Den add-on is 75 percent off, while you can get 50 percent off SSX Mount Eddie Classic Characters Pack, SSX Mount Eddie Pack, SSX Classic Characters Pack, BioShock Infinite Burial at Sea Episodes 1 and 2, BioShock Infinite: Clash in the Clouds and Columbia's Finest Pack, Borderlands 2 Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack, Psycho Pack, and Headhunter 1 Bloody Harvest, as well as Mafia II's Jimmy's Vendetta Pack and Joe's Adventure. For 25 percent off, you'll find the Borderlands TPS: Handsome Jack Doppleganger Pack and UVHUP & Holodome Onslaught.

Take note that these Games with Gold deals will expire on Monday, January 19. While some of the games and add-ons are available as a discount to all Xbox users, the biggest discounts are only available to those with an Xbox Live Gold membership. If you head over to the blog of Xbox Director of Programming Major Nelson, you'll find links to each game's complete description, including full price details (you must be logged in with your Gold account to see the sale pricing), rating, screenshots, video trailers, download instructions, and indicators for which games are available only to Gold members.
