Considering that it is the beginning of March, most subscribers for the Xbox Live Games with Gold want to know what free games that they can start playing.  The full list was available as of last week, but when it comes to the month of April, the word is a bit scarce.  It might be possible to speculate what could be available for the free games for Xbox Live Games with Gold for April 2016.

However, let's start with the free games available for March 2016, and from there, we'll start with the Xbox 360, which is going to be available for the Xbox One, with the backwards compatibility feature now available.  Supreme Commander 2 is available from March 1 to March 15 and the game is a Real-Time Strategy (RTS) game that has a very deep story taking place in a futuristic universe full of war.  During March 16 to March 31, Xbox 360 players can enjoy the hit game Borderlands.  This is the original 2009 game that has spawned a franchise.

The first game available for Xbox One until March 31st is Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and PunishmentSherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments is a game with six cases, and they are self-contained, as accomplishments in one case do not affect the others.  Some the cases are direct adaptations of the Sir Arthur Conan Doyle source material.

The second game is available for the Xbox One from March 16 to April 15, and it is Lords of the Fallen.  The Steam Store describes the game as:  "The Demonic Rhogar army is re-emerging from its dark realm. Harkyn, a convicted criminal rejected by society is the world's last hope for salvation. Plunge into a fast-paced action RPG using powerful magic alongside a complex and satisfying melee combat system."

You might notice that the title mentions the free games available for April 2016.  Sadly, it is too early to say, as an Internet search on the subject reveals not even speculation.  Most fans have noticed that a new game coming for the month might prompt Games with Gold to release a free game related to it.  For example, Deus Ex: Human Revolution was free for January, and there will be a new Deus Ex game released this August.  Also, DiRT Showdown was a game available for free in January, and DiRT Rally is due out in April, at least for the PS4.

By that logic, one game that fans want to see in April is Dark Souls III, so wouldn't it make sense to put older Dark Souls game available for free?  We will see as we get close to April.
