Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag (Xbox One)

The sixth major installment in the Assassin's Creed saga follows the story of notorious pirate Edward Kenway, grandfather of protagonist Ratonhnhaké from Assassin's Creed III. The gameplay includes melee combat, stealth, and freerunning - just like in the previous installments.

Players will also take command of large sailing vessels bristling with 18th century firepower such as cannons and swivel-guns. Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag features an open world setting during the Golden Age of Piracy. Maps include oceans, exotic isles, period-accurate towns, and lost civilizations.

So Many Me (Xbox One)

Retail Price: $14.99

Players control mutated, blob-shaped clones that have different abilities. The goal is to confront a so-called an ancient evil enemy by solving puzzles in a 2D environment.

Plants vs. Zombies (Xbox 360)

Retail Price: $14.99

Available: July 1-15

This award-winning title features tower defense gameplay. Players will need to defend their property from marauding zombies by growing plants in a garden. Each plant has a special ability that can be used to combat the undead. Vegetation types include flowers, vegetables, nuts, and trees. Gamers will be faced with limited resources. So, plants need to be chosen carefully.

Gears of War 3 (Xbox 360)

Retail Price: $19.99

Available: July 16-31

Toward the latter half of July, Xbox 360 owners will get to play Gears of War 3. This is perhaps one of the most beloved shooters of all time. Players will reacquaint themselves with main character Marcus Fenix and his squad-mates. The premise of the sci-fi title takes place during Human-Locust war. Marcus and his squad face impossible odds as they do battle for humanity's survival.

Gears of War 3 features an advanced cover system that was considered innovative at the time. Players will also remember Marcus' iconic chainsaw bayonet that can be used to take down enemies in fierce hand-to-hand combat.
