Starting September 16, Xbox Live Games with Gold subscribers are getting two new games to try out for free. Sadly, two other free games on Xbox One and Xbox 360 have expired at the same time. Meanwhile, the October 2015 free games list is coming at the end of this month.

When is the October 2015 List Available

Presently, it is too early to know when the October 2015 free games list for the Xbox Live Games with Gold's program will be available. Since January 2015, this information is confirmed in the final week of each month -- but not on the very last day. Also, Mondays seem to be off limits. In theory, it is quite possible for the October list to be announced on the 29th of this month. However, nothing is for certain.

Major Nelson is a great source when the October 2015 list becomes available, as they are usually the first to get free games announcement. Until then, subscribers will need to wait patiently for more updates from Microsoft.

Those interested in getting free games thru Xbox Live Games with Gold will first need to pay subscription. The free games list is continually updated each month. A similar program for Sony PlayStation owners is available through PlayStation Plus.

What Subscribers Get Starting September 16 thru 30

As mentioned above, only two free games remain. They include Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition on Xbox One, and Crysis 3 on Xbox 360.

Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition (ERP $29.99) updates the 2013 reboot to next-gen graphics. Those who have already played the earlier game can play it again, but with gorgeously remastered visuals.

Crysis 3 (ERP $19.99) is the third installment in the Crysis videogame franchise. Players take on the role of former spec-ops soldier, Prophet, who does battle with the nefarious CELL Corporation and vicious Ceph alien invaders.

Both games will remain available until the end of September. Afterwards, Games with Gold with kick off with a new round of free games in October 2015.
