Xtreme Team Mission Adventures Planned for Summer 2003

American Baptist International Ministries is sponsoring young believers to take part in “Xtreme Team Mission Adventures.”

The project was developed by American Baptist Intl. Ministries in 1998 to give young adults experience in cross-cultural mission experiences in foreign countries. In the past four years, 68 participants from ages 19 to 29 have been involved. This summer, one team will be dispatched from the U.S. to Ghana, one from the U.S. to Japan, and one from South America to the U.S. Each team will be made up of 8 participants and 4 leaders.

The experience in is scheduled to take place from June 29- Aug9. The participants will begin with an orientation week at Judson College in Elgin, Ill. On July 6, they will be dispatched to their respective countries. Each day, they "Xtract what they see, hear, feel, taste and touch and relate those Xperiences to God's word and world.” Utilizing the Internet, they will keep supporters and friends informed of their progress by posting photos, interviews, testimonies and journal entries.

The teams will return from the field on July 30 for debriefing at Ripon College in Ripon, Wis. The experience will conclude with the World Mission Conference in Green Lake, Wis. from Aug.2-9.
