Latest on GTA 6 rumors Rockstar

Considering all the talk that has been coming about upgrades to the PlayStation 4 with the PlayStation 4K and Nintendo with the NX, it is no wonder why people are talking about the release date of Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 6.  After all, GTA 5 came out in 2013, when the Xbox 360 and PS3 were on their last legs, and it had to be re-released in 2014 just to be on the Xbox One and PS4.  So what will the next variant of GTA give to its huge fanbase?  Will the next version do something similar or wait for the new systems before release?  This is what is known about GTA 6 new features and release date.

A report on Gigjets says that development of this game hasn't even started yet.  However, there is a report from N4BB saying that the developers have already created a map-building stage for GTA 6

There are other rumors that GTA 6 will take place in Tokyo, this rumor is based on Rockstar's recent visit to the Japanese capital.  It could be the case, but to set the next GTA in another country involves a lot of work for the developers.  There are reports that there will be multiple maps, with each map having specific missions.

Some have stated that perhaps GTA 6 will take place in Bogota, which is again in another country. That would probably be even more difficult for the developers.  Some are saying the game is Vegas bound, which would trade Vice City for Sin City.

There is also a rumor that GTA 6 will bring the first female protagonist to the GTA franchise.  So far, players have only been allowed male characters in the story/single player mode, with a possibility to create a female character in GTA Online, multiplayer mode.  There have been reports that celebrities like Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes are going to play some role in this, but this is not confirmed.

In fact, Rockstar has been quite silent about the release of GTA 6 ever since GTA 5 was released.  The usual rumors begin to abound about the game like more flying missions, even more choices for weapons, and even the possibility for cheat codes.

So when is GTA 6 coming out?  It depends on what stage of development that Rockstar is with the game.  This could mean 2018 or 2019, when it will be optimized for Virtual Reality, which is something that fans will want to really immerse themselves in the game.  Since VR has yet to take off (but probably will this year), Rockstar will have to adapt to it.

Some say that the game won't be seen until 2020, when the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Two are released.  If the game is as big as predicted, it will require the advanced hardware of the next-gen systems, but we will have to see.
